Crystalline Energy

Using Blender geometry nodes, this image shows a burst of crystalline energy, with sharp, angular forms radiating outward. The interplay of cool metallic and soft warm tones I used hopefully gives it a sense of both chaos and clarity and a blend of intensity and wonder. It’s a dynamic exploration of structure of a moment of creation frozen in time.

Technical notes: Created in Blender 4.2 using geometry nodes and a sky texture. Glass material from Renderkit. Rendered in Cycles.

This image was derived from the excellent geometry nodes tutorial on Parametric design by Jakob Design. The tutorial on YouTube can be found here. I used a sphere as the base element, and then by varying the extrusion values with random values and using a sky texture and Photoshop I was able to end up with an abstract I really liked.
